The Firs Bed and Breakfast, run by Dan & Izabella, is all about excellent customer service and comfort. We are a friendly Plymouth B&B with the facilities to cater for not only the single traveller, but also couples, groups and families. Our B&B is ideally positioned if you are visiting for fishing, diving, cycling, walking, business, or simply working in the area.  If taking a well-earned weekend break or a longer holiday, the stunning Plymouth Hoe seafront is just a couple of minutes’ walk away.  Dan is a keen fisherman in his spare time, and is always willing to pass on his tips for where to cast your rod!

There are 9 comfortably furnished bedrooms to accommodate you in our property. This includes a small family room for 3 persons, and a large family room which can cater for 2 adults and 2 children, with a travel cot available on request. A high chair can be provided for use at breakfast time.

Dan & Izabella will be happy to advise you regarding places to visit in Plymouth, and when staying at The Firs B&B, you have so many fun activities, trips and historical places of interest to explore without the need to drive!  There are also so many restaurants and cafes in the local area – you will be spoilt for choice!

Services & Facilities

All guest bedrooms are equipped with colour TV’s and have complimentary Tea and Coffee making facilities plus Hot Chocolate and Biscuits.  All rooms have hairdryers.

Irons and ironing boards are available on request.  All rooms have free Wi-Fi.

Some of the rooms are en-suite. We also provide complimentary toiletries in all rooms,  plus all rooms are provided with towels. Packed lunches are available to take away if requested.

Breakfast

All breakfast items are sourced locally whenever possible. The Firs has a 5 star Food Hygiene rating.

The Firs Guest House offers a wide range of options for breakfast dining:

Full English

Includes a fried egg, grilled bacon, grilled sausage, grilled tomato, beans, mushrooms and toast.

Vegetarian

Includes beans, mushrooms, vegetarian sausage, fried egg, grilled tomato and toast.

Continental

Includes croissant, bread roll, ham, cheese, yoghurt, fruit and toast.

Also available are 5 choices of breakfast cereal, orange and apple juice and as much tea or coffee and toast  served with butter, jam, marmalade and Marmite as you would like. We also have a selection of fruit teas.

Number of rooms

The Firs B&B in Plymouth offers 9 Guest Bedrooms across the 1st & 2nd Floors. 4 of these Bedrooms are en suite.

How can I book?
You can book directly over the phone or on this website. Advance payment: a deposit of 50% is required in advance of your booking. 100% is required for 1 night’s stay. Any balance outstanding is payable on arrival.

Check In & Out Times
Our check in times are from 5pm to 10pm daily. Early check in from 1pm is by prior arrangement only and is subject to availability. Please note there is a £10 charge for this service, and must be arranged prior to your arrival. No late checkout is available.

Parking & Bike Storage
Parking is on street. This is currently charged at £2.40 per hour during the day. 12am to 6am is free. This could be subject to increase. You can purchase an All Day Parking Ticket from The Firs – this currently costs £8.70.

We also have bicycle storage. Free of charge outside storage for bicycles is available in the back courtyard. Bicycles are to be secured by the owner and are stored at the owner’s risk. Indoor storage is available at £5 per bicycle per day.

Payment  Methods
We accept all Major Credit and Debit Cards online, over the phone and in person.

Cancellation Policy
7 days notice must be given for refund of deposit. A £35 administration charge will be made.
Within 7 days no refund will be given. Similarly, if a guest wishes to cancel during a stay, the full amount will be charged.

Dogs
We do accept small, well-behaved dogs at our discretion. This is charged at £10 per night. Dogs must be on a lead in the Bed and Breakfast other than in the Guest Bedroom. We do not allow dogs in the Breakfast Room.

Fire Safety
The Firs B&B in Plymouth is equipped with up-to-date extinguishers, fire alarms and emergency lighting, as the law states. The Muster Point is opposite the Bed and Breakfast – should the alarm go off. We are strictly a non-smoking Bed and Breakfast.
